Playlist – 29 Aug 2015 – Wedding

Yesterday’s wedding was at the lovely Copain Wine Cellars in Healdsburg. I’ve DJ’ed many weddings there previously, though I’m still taken aback by the view each time I visit. Musically, yesterday’s couple wanted a heavy dose of classic rock during dinner, which made for a livelier-than-usual dinner playlist:

Here Comes the Sun – The Beatles
Scarlet Begonias – The Grateful Dead
Into the Mystic – Van Morrison
Wigwam – Bob Dylan
Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp – Led Zeppelin
Kings Highway – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Ripple – The Grateful Dead
Air That I Breathe – The Hollies
Mambo Sun – T. Rex
By Your Side – Beachwood Sparks
The Book of Love – Magnetic Fields
We’re Going to Be Friends – The White Stripes
Is This Love – Bob Marley & The Wailers
Picture In a Frame – Tom Waits
I Will – The Beatles
Light My Fire – The Doors
Love Me Tender – Norah Jones
Today Is The Day – Yo La Tengo
Such Great Heights (Acoustic) – Iron & Wine
Magnificent Sanctuary Band – Donny Hathaway
Supernatural Thing – Ben E. King

Then came time for dancing. The bride had a few must-play requests that I sprinkled in, including her impromptu, and wildly successful, decision to close the night with Hava Nagila. All in all it was a fun event, and one at which the dance floor remained crowded for the duration of the party. That reminds me of another reason I like Copain so much– guests arrive and leave en masse via shuttle bus, so there is no dwindling crowd as the night progresses.

First Dance: Love Minus Zero/ No Limit – Bob Dylan
Father-Daughter Dance: You Are So Beautiful – Joe Cocker
Mother-Son Dance: Sunrise, Sunset – Jerry Bock

I Saw Her Standing There – The Beatles
I Want You Back – The Jackson Five
Dancing Queen – ABBA
Midnight City – M83
Electric Feel – MGMT
Don’t Stop Believing – Journey
Sweet Home Alabama – Lynyrd Skynyrd
(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life – Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
Stuck in the Middle With You – Stealer’s Wheel
The Midnight Special – Creedence Clearwater Revival
Sweet Child ‘O Mine – Guns-N-Roses
Dancing With Myself – Billy Idol
Take On Me – a-ha
Footloose – Kenny Loggins
What I Like About You – The Romantics
Dancing On My Own – Robyn
Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) – Beyoncé
Wherever, Whenever – Shakira
Dear Future Husband – Meghan Trainor
Long Hora Medley – The Ku Ensemble
